The crane was being used to build a conveyor system that links the mine to two coal silos each silo is 295 feet tall and holds 17,500 tons of coal, enough to fill a 150-car train.
The reports on what caused the LTL1100 to collapse has still not issued any definitive findings, although it is focusing on the six inches of heavy rainfall prior to the accident which it says may have caused the ground to give way under the crane.
