UpRight unveils RT Scissor range
UpRight has unveiled a new range of Rough Terrain scissor lifts, with three models with platform heights from 32ft to 52ft and lift capacities of 400kgs and 1,000kgs.
The new models are designed by UpRight and will be manufactured in its facilities, while the recently announced heavy duty scissor range was designed by partner Omega lift and built in Holland.
The first model which is currently undergoing test and evaluation is the middle model the X43RT, with a 43ft/13m platform height, 400kg lift capacity and dual 1.2 metre deck extensions, providing a total extended deck of 6.4 metres.

This is possibly the very first all new self propelled product from the UpRight design team since Tanfield took over? If so many will be keen to scrutinise the design detail. UpRight withdrew from the full size RT scissor lift market several years ago as its LX range, which had been hugely popular in terms of sales, faded from the scene and the company’s previous owners wound the business down prior to selling it.
In the past 18 months, UpRight has inherited some strong but dated big scissor models with the Snorkel purchase, and more recently teamed up with Omega to introduce a range of heavy duty scissors, topped out by the 80ft X80ND, joined recently by the HX67RT. The company is close to having a range of big scissor products to suit
everyone’s taste, in terms of size and specification.
The challenge though will be to combat some excellent product from JLG, Genie, Skyjack and Holland Lift at a time when the market for cladding scissors has peaked. The company does though have a loyal and quite extensive distribution base which will help provide at least a minimum underlying level of business for products such as this.
