Wordsworth Holdings in administration

Wordsworth Holdings the construction equipment manufacturer owned by Duncan Wordsworth has called in the administrators.

Chris Farrington, Dominic Wong and David Langton of Deloitte, were appointed as Joint Administrators to Wordsworth Holdings plc and its subsidiary companies which include: Barford dumpers, Fruehauf trailers and WH Rentals on 11th March 2010.

The administrators have said that the business will continue to trade while a buyer is sought for the businesses as a going concern.

In the 1980’s Duncan Wordsworth, now 69, ran the Coles cranes plant in Sunderland and was managing director of operations following its acquisition by Grove in late 1984.

Following his departure in the late 1988 he bought up a string of struggling companies to form Wordsworth holdings and dabbled with access equipment for a while.
