Fassi acquires Marrel
Italian loader crane manufacturer Fassi has acquired a significant stake in French hook and skip loader manufacturer Marrel from the Caravelle financial group, in partnership with its French distributor Miltra. Details of the equity split have not been revealed.
Marrel is based in Andrézieux-Bouthéon, near Lyon, was founded in 1919 and builds hook lifts, skip loaders, tipper scissors and hydraulic cylinders. The company exports 55 percent of its production with revenues of €32 million and 120 employees. Fassi says that it intends to offer the Marrel products alongside its articulated cranes.

Giovanni Fassi said: "The exporter vocation of the group under my guidance is paying back all the hard work carried out in recent years, when market globalisation was a scenario reserved to a few players. With this entrance in Marrel, we want to provide a push to the French company’s exports".
The owner of Miltra, Roger Boutonnet added: "Miltra and Fassi Gru have a solid and longstanding collaboration behind them, our determination, in addition to our tested understanding, has prompted us to undertake this important investment".
