Böcker for ABA

UK based crane rental company ABA Crane Hire has taken delivery of a four tonne Böcker AK44-4000 aluminium boom truck mounted crane from distributor Kranlyft UK.

The AK44-4000 is the largest model in the Böcker range and has a maximum tip height of 42 metres – 33 metres of main boom plus an 8.9 metre three section telescopic luffing jib. It can lift its maximum capacity to a radius of 8.2 metres and take 500kg to a radius of approximately 30 metres. Mounted on a Mercedes Benz chassis with a Euro 6 emission diesel engine, the crane has also been supplied with an aerial work platform.

ABA Crane Hire manager Dale England, said: “We have had this product in mind for some time and with one of our local competitors taking delivery of a similar specification crane earlier this year it gave us the opportunity to re-rent it and evaluate its suitability on some local contract lifts. We knew of Kranlyft UK from its Kato days and them taking the distributorship gave us the comfort we needed to commit to purchase the AK44-4000.”

“Our newly delivered crane is the first to be supplied into the UK on the Mercedes Benz carrier with a Euro 6 engine. It is also equipped for an access platform which allows us to fit a 250kg capacity work platform. It has already proved to be an excellent addition to our fleet renewal programme as it allows us to undertake several contract lifts a day due to its ability to rig and de-rig so quickly.”
