ARA final day

The third day of the Rental show at the ARA convention surprised most exhibitors with how busy it was. Vertikal.Net was there and we report on a few more new products that caught our eye.

Bil-Jax had three brand new articulating boom trailer lifts on display, with 11.3, 13.7 and 16.8 metre platform heights, all of which represent a massive leap forward for the company, in terms of quality and design.

The three new models are:
The 3522A
The 4527A and
The 5533A

The numbers are the platform height and outreach in feet.
The company also has a straight telescopic 3632T which it launched last year, which can be equipped with a lifting attachment or light duty crane work such as the placing of roof trusses.

All models now feature a common control box with digital information readout and dual outrigger set lights.

All are fitted with hydraulic outriggers with auto levelling and a fast 30 second set up and level times, and

All are equipped with hydraulic jibs and offer strong working envelopes.

The company is already well along with its CE approvals, and plans to launch its products in Europe later this year.

Chuck Hutchinson, vice president of sales and marketing told Vertikal that the company plans to add further trailer lifts, including some larger straight telescopic models.

While it now has its own range of articulating lifts it will continue to market the Aerial range in North America under its own brand name. Hutchinson said that some of its customer base prefers hydraulic pilot controls which the Aerial provides along with other differentiation details.

He also said that the company will continue to focus of products for the rental market, including its scaffold range, trailer lifts and transport trailers.

Another All American manufacturer currently obtaining CE approvals for its products is Custom Equipment. It offers a single scissor product line, the HB1030, with 10ft platform height designed for low level internal applications.

The unit offers a five metre working height, 340kg lift capacity, 760mm width, 1.5m overall length and 530kg GVW it is ideal for elevators, upper floors and delicate surfaces, in fact its dual steering wheels are designed to turn full arc without twisting or rucking carpet.

On the RentalMan stand we saw a very neat dashboard which displays key statistics such as fleet utilisation in a quick glance format, with a chart that resembles a fuel gauge. The dashboard is provided by RentalMan partner Webadvisor.

Yet another alloy tower from China
Advance the Australian scaffold tower producer is now having its towers made in China. In this its third year at the Rental show it displayed low price tags on all of its products.
