New Spierings unveiled
Netherlands-based mobile self-erecting tower crane manufacturer Spierings has unveiled its completely redesigned SK 597-AT4. Complete with its 48 metre jib the new crane will replace the 44 metre jib SK498-AT4.
Improvements on the SK 597-AT4 include disc brakes, new DAF Euro 6 engine, two new luffing positions giving 15, 30 and 45 degrees and a new carrier cab and interior. The chassis was further developed to handle the increased capacity of the crane - 1,700kg at 48 metres - yet remaining within the current 12 tonne axle loads.

Koos Spierings, sales manager for the Benelux and UK said: ‘With the new SK597-AT4 we have a machine that perfectly serves both the crane rental company as well as the end-user. The radius of 48 metres combined with the compact 2.75 metre overall width offers great advantages. The lifting capacity of 1,700 kg at 48 metres and a hook height of more than 59 metres while luffing at 45 degrees give this crane all manner of possibilities.”
