400 tonner for Babcock
Babcock Plant Services has taken delivery of a new 400 tonne six axle Tadano ATF400-6 All Terrain crane which will be based at its Richards Bay branch. It will go straight to work at Richards Bay Minerals on a three year contract.
The new crane features a 60 metre five section main boom and plus 30 metre hydraulic luffing jib that offsets by up to 60 degrees. Full counterweight is 138 tonnes and the unit comes with the Lift Adjuster attachment which aims to automatically limit the effects of long boom deflection.
The six-axle carrier boasts has all wheel steer, including crab and co-ordinated with four of the axles driven and equipped with transverse differential locks.
