More port cranes to Hutchison
Terex Port Solutions is to supply two more Terex ship-to-shore (STS) cranes to Tanzania International Container Terminal Services (TICTS) - a member of Hong Kong-based port developer and operator, Hutchison Port Holdings.
Due to be fully operational by the end of this year, the new 41 tonne double box boom STS cranes will be manufactured at Terex Port Solutions’ headquarters in Xiamen, China. With an outreach of 42 metres, the electric-powered machines are designed to load and unload container vessels with up to 15 rows.

Situated in Dar es Salaam, TICTS is Tanzania’s largest container terminal and a gateway to Eastern, Central and Southern Africa. The deal is said to significantly enhance productivity. Hutchison Holdings has previously taken delivery of 17 rubber-tyred gantry and STS cranes since 2012.
Maurizio Altieri, managing director of TPS Xiamen, said: “In order to support the rapid development of its global business over the long term, Hutchison Port has now decided to rely on TPS again. Our cranes combine high productivity with economical total cost of ownership.”
