Dutch terminal operator Combined Cargo Terminals (CCT) has ordered a 125 tonne Konecranes Gottwald ESP.7 mobile harbour crane, its ninth unit from the manufacturer.

The new Generation ESP.7 hybrid crane - which will be located at its Moerdijk facility - has a working radius of up to 51 metres, with a maximum capacity of 125 tonnes. It can be connected to the terminal's power grid to reduce emissions and will be used alongside the company's existing Konecranes reach stackers for container handling between sea going vessels and inland shipping routes. Delivery is scheduled for the third quarter.

Managing director Luc Smits said: "This latest crane gives us the visibility, reach and speed we need for serving the larger size of vessels increasingly calling at the terminal. Konecranes is a key partner on our growth and sustainability journey, having supplied us with equipment since the start of our operations in 2005."

Located between Rotterdam and Antwerp, CCT's Moerdijk terminal serves as a trimodal hub combining rail, road and waterway transport.
