Spierings crawler for Sweden

Swedish construction services company Skårs Gräv & Byggservice has taken delivery of a new Spierings SK2400-R crawler mounted self-erecting tower crane – the first in the country.

The new crane has a maximum capacity of 18 tonnnes at a radius of 14.6 metres and can handle 5.5 tonnes on its tip 42 metre jib tip. The hook height wth boom horizontal is 35.5 metres, but it luffs up to 30 degrees above horizontal to provide a 56 metre maximum hook height.

The 18 tonne Spierings SK2400-R

The SK2400-R has a total setup time after arriving on site of 1.5 hours and needs just two trailers for transport its total overall weight of 84 tonnes. The machine is able to unload and self-install its counterweight and tracks, avoiding the need for an assist crane. The fully erected crane can also travel without the need to fold the tower or jib. Four built in jib mounted floodlights assist with night work.
