New glass network

A new glass installation equipment network - Cranion - has been formed with 14 founding members, 12 in Europe -of which seven are based in Germany - and two North American companies. The network includes companies that can supply cranes and equipment for the vacuum and glass handling sector with headquarters in Hassloch to the south of Mannheim, Germany.

The German member companies include Nordkran, Autokrandienst Jaromin, Kawelke Kranverleih, Minikran Klaus, Pfalzlift, UHW Consulting and Frankenlift and are joined by MY Lift in Sweden and Norway, Hocap in the Netherlands, KurKo Lifting Services in Finland, Fascan in the USA and GLC Glass Lifting in Canada. There are plans to expand the network throughout Europe with discussions already underway in Denmark and Switzerland.

Nordkran sales director and co-founder of the network Carsten Bielefeld said: "We see ourselves as service providers in lifting technology for the glass sector. The target is to get all end-users in the glass business the opportunity to get a complete solution with one partner - Cranion. After discussions with some of our customers we decided to grow in Europe. Now we have a lot of requests from overseas so we will see how it works over the next year."
