MD change at Nationwide Platforms
Lavendon has appointed Phil Wainwright as interim managing director of its UK operation Nationwide Platforms.
He replaces Wayne Smith, who resigned last month and has since left the company after around 12 months in the role and 18 months with the company.

Wainwright moves to Nationwide from parent company Loxam, where he has worked since last July, having joined the group as Interim managing director of Lavendon France, with responsibility for its transition into Loxam France. He also holds the title of Loxam group development director – Powered Access.
He started his career in 1997 as a graduate engineer with Air Products, moving to Havelock Europa in 2002 as a divisional director. In 2000 he joined Hills Electrical & Mechanical as a director. Two years later he returned to Havelock to handle a project to turn around its ESA MacIntosh education division.

In 2008 he moved to UK contractor and facilities management company Carillion as development director, a role he held for four years, leaving in 2012 to join Miller Group as managing director of its services division, remaining with the business when it became Galliford Try Facilities Management. In 2015 he was appointed as chief operating officer of Bilfinger’s UK facilities management business, leaving a year later to handle a project in Germany, before being recruited by Loxam.
