Mammoet and Goldwind Australia sign multi year deal
Mammoet and Goldwind Australia have signed a multi year framework agreement, with all contract terms and conditions agreed upfront for Goldwind Australia to use Mammoet for its future wind farm work in Australia.
Mammoet has already installed a project team in Melbourne to commence operations under the agreement. The first two projects will involve the installation of 253 Goldwind Wind Turbine Generators in Victoria.
Goldwind Australia, a subsidiary of the Chinese wind turbine manufacturer has already started construction on the 149 turbine/530MW Stockyard Hill wind farm in western Victoria, which, when complete should be the largest wind farm in the country. It has a long term power supply agreement with Origin Energy.
Mammoet will start offloading the first components for the Stockyard Hill project early next month and will also carry out pre assembly services, as well as full mechanical and electrical completion works - using its specialist staff - in addition to the crane and installation work.

Goldwind said that it has a large number of wind projects on hand in Australia and was looking for a partner that could provide the necessary expertise, with sufficient resources to cover the work schedule, while being able to handle the transport, lifting and installation services.
In order to cope with the additional work Mammoet has extended its Australian crane fleet with two new 750 tonne Liebherr LG1750-SX truck mounted cranes, while further investments will be made in All Terrain support cranes, trucks, trailers and auxiliary equipment.
Mammoet has been active in Australia since 1998 and has installed around 1.5GW of wind turbine power generation capacity so far.
