Travelling with raised boom
A truck crane pulled down an overhead traffic light in Reno, Nevada yesterday as it was driven down the highway with the boom raised.
It seems that the crane crew thought it was a good idea to drive the Grove TMS870 between jobs with the boom over the rear at an angle of around 45 degrees or so with its hook block swinging free.

The police said: “The driver of the crane had forgotten to lower the boom and accidentally drove into a street light pole. No one was injured nor were there vehicles involved in the crash.”
It was lucky that this stunt did not end with a more serious incident.
