Two electric RTGs for Turkey
Safi Derince International Port has order two fully electric 40 tonne Kalmar Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes for its port in the Marmara region of Turkey.
The cranes can handle seven plus one rows wide and can stack one over six high. They will be equipped with Kalmar’s SmartPort, Smart Rail and Kalmar One automation systems as well as its SmartFleet system which provides remote monitoring and analysis of the two cranes. Delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of 2021.
Baris Yavuzcetin, Safiport Derince technical coordinator, said: “We are pleased with the performance of our Kalmar RTGs and the local support provided by the local Kalmar team, so it was natural for us to turn to Kalmar when it came to renewing our fleet.”
