Tree worker electrocuted
A man trimming trees from a platform in rural Tennessee died on Saturday after coming into contact with live overhead power lines.
The man, Joshua Singletary, 36, was pruning the trees at a private home in Cottontown, north east of Nashville, when the incident occurred. The local emergency services were quick to arrive on the scene and found him to have suffered a cardiac arrest. They tried to revive and stabilise him, and managed to get him to a point where he was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. Sadly, he passed away, either en-route or shortly after arrival
A statement from the local fire department said that it was unclear if the electrical contact was with the victim directly or to the basket of the platform that touched the wires. We will update when we learn more.
