First Bobcat 360s for Russia

Russian mining company MMC Norilsk Nickel has taken delivery of the first five Bobcat branded 360 degree telehandlers in the country. The deal is also the largest Bobcat has received since teaming up with Magni for the OEM supply of its 360 degree telehandlers late last year - see: Bobcat to brand Magni 360s.

MMC opted for five units of Bobcat’s five tonne/21 metre TR50.210s from local distributor NAK Machinery. The TR50 can take its maximum capacity to a height of 10.4 metres and handle 2,500kg at its maximum lift height. It can also handle 500kg at its maximum outreach of 17.4 metres.

MMC has taken delivery of the first Bobcat branded 360 degree telehandlers in Russia

Features include a Stage V Deutz engine that automatically adjusts its speed depending on the load, an automatic hydraulic locking rear axle, and an overpressure and full-flow air filtration and air conditioning system. A range of bucket, fork and jib attachments have also been supplied that use RFID recognition technology to identify and adjust the load chart depending on the attachment in use.

Bobat launched a new 360 degree range after teaming up with Magni last year

The new telehandlers will be used at MMC’s Unified Warehouse Facility (UWF) in Norilsk, located above the Artic Circle, which supplies materials and technical resources to the production departments of the Polar Division and organisations of the Norilsk Industrial District. Average winter temperatures in the region normally reach as low as minus 30 degrees.

Evgeny Supletsov, Bobcat country manager for Russia & CIS, said: "In the EMEA region, the concept of rotary telehandlers is gaining popularity and in the last five years showed strong growth from 1035 units in 2015 to 1809 units in 2020.
