IPAF adds to board

IPAF - the International Powered Access Federation - has appointed Jacco de Kluijver of Genie Europe to its board of directors.

De Kluijver entered the powered access industry in 2000 when he joined HDW, the Genie distributor for the Netherlands, from shipping and logistics company Slavenburg & Huyser. In 2005 he moved to Towerlight as European sales manager, leaving for Genie in 2007 as Benelux regional sales manager adding the UK and Ireland to his territory the following year. He was promoted to his current role as vice president of sales & marketing for Europe, Africa and the Middle East in 2015 and since 2020 India.

His appointment will be confirmed at the IPAF AGM and Summit, in London on March 10th.
IPAF president Norty Turner said: “Jacco has served as a representative for Genie on the IPAF Council since 2014, being confirmed as the company’s full time representative in 2015, so his move to join the IPAF board is a natural progression. His experience working for one of the world’s leading equipment manufacturers will greatly benefit the Federation as we look to sustain and support our members and the wider industry as it continues to build back from the coronavirus pandemic.”

de Kluijver added: “For me, the work that IPAF does connects seamlessly with the objective every MEWP user around the world has - and the objective that every aerial lift manufacturer should have - helping people to work at height safely and allowing them to go home to their families at the end of every shift. I am honoured to be asked to join the IPAF board; my objective will be to increase IPAF’s penetration as the leading training standard for safe work at height outside of established markets, as well as engaging with equipment manufacturers in terms of development and implementation of new standards and processes for safe use.”
