City replacement

German crane and access rental company Dunkel Autokran has taken delivery of a 45 tonne Tadano AC 3.045-1 City.

The new crane replaces and aging Demag AC 40 City crane and features a 31.2 metre five section boom with the option of a 7.1 to 13 metres extension with up to 30 degrees of offset and a maximum tip height of 47 metres. The three axle crane has a fully equipped weight of 34 tonnes with 12 tonne maximum axle loads, it is also possible to configure it with 10 axle loads by reducing the counterweight and removing the extension. All three axles steer and drive with six steering configurations.

The new crane handover

Managing director Sebastian Dunkel said: “We were so happy with the reliability and performance of our City crane that it would have been practically impossible for us to choose anything other than the current AC 3.045-1 City - especially since all the research confirmed that it was an amazing machine."

“It’s an extremely compact crane, making it very manoeuvrable and combining that with a whole lot of power regardless of whether it be during normal lifts or when telescoping under load. And for jobs at industrial facilities, it can even work in low buildings with steep boom positions and move some pretty big loads thanks to its compact 7.8 metre boom base section.”
