Access Link meets at JCB
The UK association of independent regional rental companies, Access Link, held its first full in-person meeting since March 2020 and the original Lockdown.
The meeting was hosted by JCB at its headquarters in Rocester, UK, yesterday and in spite of a few last minute cancellations from delegates due to positive Covid tests, the meeting was well attended.
Among the issues discussed was the impact of the April 1st withdrawal of tax rebated red diesel for constriction equipment, compounded by increasing cost of all fuel in general. Other points included supply chain issues and the increasing cost and long lead times of new equipment and spare parts availability issues with some manufacturers.
In the afternoon session at JCB’s visitor centre, the Link Members had an opportunity to see some new products and to hear about the future strategy for JCB Access. All members were then taken on a plant tour complete with a visit to the company museum - ‘The Story of JCB’.

JCB Access sales director John Chandler said: “We would like to thank the Access Link for choosing JCB to host their first face to face meeting since Covid. It was a great opportunity to spend time with many key businesses from within the access industry, their feedback will be key for our future plans. We look forward to working closely with the Link and its members for many years ahead."
