Pon confirms Milcon purchase

Pon has officially announced that it acquired Milcon on June first.
As we reported earlier this week the aerial lift specialist Milcon will merge with Gunco which is also owned by Pon, to create a combined fleet of 4,600 rental machines, largely aerial lifts, telehandlers and forktrucks.

The combined company operates in Germany as well as Benelux markets. Paul van Berendonck, managing director of Gunco will assume overall responsibility for Milcon.

The daily management of Milcon however will stay in the hands of Gilbert and Michel van Mil, while their father and founder of Milcon Ruud van Mil will stay involved as an adviser.

Milcon's training business, Omnitalent and its accomodation arm - Rentidee are not included in the deal.

Pon is looking at the acquisition not only as a healthy investment but also, as a strategic step that raises its stake in the access industry.
