Renta takes Mylift

The Norwegian division of the Helsinki based Renta rental group, Renta Norge has acquired Norwegian crane and access rental specialist Mylift Holding, which includes general rental company Mylift, scaffolder MB Stillas and crane rental company Mortens Kranservice, from majority owners Ørjan and Kjell Rune Petersson along with Knut Rindal. The deal will strengthen Renta's position in Eastern Norway. Financial details have not been disclosed.

Mylift group holding is based in Hamar with eight locations, 220 employees and sales in 2022 of NOK 360 million ($30.5 million).

Mylift has branches in Hamar, Elverum and Gjøvik and a facility in Dal that covers the greater Oslo region it has 70 employees and revenues of NOK 208 million (€17.6 million).

MB Stillas has branches in Lillehammer, Hamar and Skedsmo with 130 employees and revenues of NOK 143 million (€12 million), finally Mortens Kranservice is based in Brumunddal, near Hamar, and only joined the Mylift group last year, it has 17 employees and revenues of NOK 26 million (€2.2 million).

Renta managing director Leif-Martin Drange said: “The agreement is strategically important as it gives us access to new markets in Eastern Norway and strengthens us in the rental and installation of scaffolding. In addition, we are gaining access to the event market, a new business area for us. Mylift managing director and group general manager Knut Rindal, who owns 11 percent of Mylift, added: “Our characteristics are availability, service and stability. MB Stillas is 57 percent owned by Mylift, the other owners being founder Kristian Borud along with Ola Sondre Talåsen and Rune Myrvold, all of whom are employed by the company. General manager Kristian Borud said: “We have invested actively in making the scaffolding profession more attractive, and we work purposefully with apprentices and professional training. MB Scaffolding is among those who have come the furthest in the industry when it comes to 3D Modulation of scaffolding. This work is very important to be able to deliver a safe, cost-effective and good product. With Renta on the team, we will become an even more attractive employer.”

Leif Martin Drange said: “At Renta, we have been looking for an expansion of scaffolding rental and assembly for some time. MB Stillas is a serious player with a focus on quality and HSE, which suits our business very well. Our takeover of MB Stillas, should be a win-win for customers, employees and owners.”

The Renta group was established in 2016 and is based in Helsinki, it is owned by the Swedish private equity company IK Partners. It operates in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, the Baltics and Norway with 1,500 employees and revenues of €387 million.
