French international rental group Kiloutou has acquired Spanish rental company Valser, strengthening its presence along the coastal region around Valencia and taking its Spanish network to 25 locations.
Established in 1983, Valser runs a 1,500 unit fleet that includes telehandlers and aerial lifts, including scissor lifts to 53ft and boom lifts up to 100ft, as well as earthmoving equipment and generators etc. Based in Valencia, it also has a depot in Alicante to the south and Castellón to the north. The company employs 42 over the three locations.
Kiloutou arrived in Spain in May 2015 when it acquired Rentecnika and its seven branches in Madrid and Barcelona. Since then, it has made several other acquisitions, mostly in the North of Spain in expanding its depot network to 25 locations with more than 250 employees. The Valencia location will become a regional hub for the business.
Chief executive Olivier Colleau said: ”This acquisition is fully in line with Kiloutou’s development strategy in Spain, which aims at strengthening our presence in high potential regions and expanding our network nationally. It also illustrates our ability to federate high-calibre regional players with a strong local presence, around our development project. I would like to warmly welcome the team members of Valser to the Kiloutou group.”
Cyril Brillouet, managing director of Kiloutou Spain added: “After two integrations in 2021, the acquisition of Valser confirms our commitment to the Spanish rental market and is fully in line with Kiloutou’s development strategy in the country, which aims at deploying our geographical presence in high potential areas. I would like to warmly welcome the 42 skilled and experienced team members from Valser into the Kiloutou group.“
Valser co-owner Carlos Biosca Martin said: “I am delighted and proud to announce the acquisition of our company by Kiloutou. The handover will enable our teams to contribute to the growth of Kiloutou with our strong knowledge of the market in the Valencian community. I am pleased to see our teams continuing their success while benefiting from new investments, services and resources."
Kiloutou has been expanding overseas at a rapid pace through multiple acquisitions since the business was acquired by private equity firm PAI partners in 2011, followed by investment group HLD in 2017. It is now a substantial player in Poland, Spain, Italy, Germany, Denmark and Portugal, in addition to its domestic market in France, making it the third largest rental company in Europe.
