Wolffkran manufacturing facility in the Middle East
Wolffkran has announced plans for a new joint venture tower crane manufacturing facility in the Middle East in partnership with the Zamil Group.
Zamil and Wolffkran will collaborate on the project to open the new facility in Saudi Arabia, aiming to meet the demand for Wolff tower cranes in the Middle East and North Africa.
Wolffkran currently has two production sites - Plant Heilbronn and Plant Luckau - both in Germany. The plans were unveiled during the Private Sector Forum February 2024 in Riyadh, hosted by the Public Investment Fund which served as a platform for industry leaders, entrepreneurs and investors to discuss and collaborate on key issues and opportunities within the private sector.
Saudi Arabia based Zamil was established in 1920 by Sheikh Abdullah Zamil. Originally a small trading company, it has grown significantly over the past few decades, expanding into various industries such as manufacturing, engineering, construction, and more. Zamil has also played a key role in the development of Saudi Arabia's economy, contributing to sectors such as petrochemicals, steel fabrication and air conditioning. Today, it is one of the largest private sector companies in the Middle East, with operations throughout the region.
