Bauma - the world’s largest construction related equipment exhibition - has issued its preliminary report, stating that around 600,000 visitors from more than 200 countries and regions attended over the seven days, compared to the record year of 2019 when 620,000 people attended.

When it comes to exhibitors the final count was 3,601 from 57 countries, following some last minute additions and 'pull outs'. In terms of International visitors, numbers were considerably higher, with particular increases from Brazil, Portugal, Romania, the Netherlands, Turkey and Spain. The numbers from China were also up on 2019.

Vertikal Comment
The event was clearly busier than the delayed 2022 event, and just about everyone we spoke to was positive, the exceptions being those companies that are largely dependent on the German market - mostly local distributors.
While the news during the event was dominated by USA tariffs that appeared to change every day, exhibitors had plenty to talk about and were largely positive, while choosing to wait and see when it came to tariffs.
The first four days were excellent, while Friday became a little wild with the excess beer creating an unpleasant tone, and a number of ‘scenes’. Saturday was a little better with a lot of families and young children seeming to curb some of the excess. Bauma would benefit from dropping Sunday - it was a waste of time - and would be better as a six day event.
We will be covering new product launches in the days ahead.
