UK based rental company Marsh Plant Hire has taken delivery of two 60 tonne Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1’s and a 110 LTM 1110-5.2 AT with five more 60 tonners due to arrive within the coming months.
The three axle LTM 1060-3.1 crane is equipped with a six section, 48 metre boom topped by a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension which takes the maximum tip height to more than 67 metres, while also offering up to 40 degrees of offset. The crane can carry all its 12.8 tonnes of counterweight within the UK’s STGO regulations, which allow axle loads of up to 16.5 tonnes. They join two other 60 tonners purchased at the end of 2022.
The five axle LTM 1110-5.2 is equipped with Liebherr’s new Liccon3 control system and features a seven section, 60 metre main boom, topped by a 10.8 to 19 metre bifold swingaway extension that can be offset by up to 40 degrees. Two extra inserts can be added between boom nose and extension to provide a maximum tip height of 96 metres.
Managing director, Andy Honeywell said: “We continue to invest in the Liebherr product. The 60 tonne cranes are a tried and tested model and the 110 tonne unit is new to our fleet which we look forward to fully evaluating over the coming months.”
Marsh Plant Hire can trace its roots back to the 1930s when Leslie Marsh began as a house builder. The rental business was formally set up in 1954 and moved to its current headquarters in 1963, with Geoffrey Marsh at the helm. Today it operates from five locations in Hampshire, Dorset, Somerset and Buckinghamshire, with a fleet of cranes ranging from 20 to 130 tonnes from manufacturers including Liebherr, Grove, Tadano, Terex and Kato. The company also runs a fleet of telehandlers from Manitou, JCB and Merlo.
