LEEA joins crane standards committee

The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) has been appointed as a liaison for The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) Cranes Technical Committee, allowing it to participate in developing international standards for the lifting industry.

The ISO develops global standards through collaboration with industry experts to establish best practices across manufacturing and process management. Founded in 1946 in London with 65 delegates from 25 countries, the ISO operates as a non-governmental international organisation, facilitating worldwide trade and business cooperation. Today, it has 173 members representing ISO in their country and 824 technical committees and sub committees.

The role will enable LEEA to work with the European Commission, World Customs Organisation, and International Labour Organisation while representing its members' interests in standards development.
Ross Moloney

LEEA chief executive Ross Moloney said: "We believe that the best standards are developed through collaborative effort. That's why we're inviting our members to join our Internal Mirror Committee. This is your opportunity to influence international standards through directly contributing to the development of ISO standards. If you’re passionate about shaping the future of the Lifting Industry, we want to hear from you.”
