Over the back

The 60 metre boom of a P&H 5100 crawler crane came crashing down on a construction site near Santa-Fe New Mexico.

The crane was preparing to be leave the site and was traveling with its boom fully elevated when something caused of to go over the back of the machine.

The crane was travelling with the boom at too steep an angle.


Thankfully no one was injured in the incident which occurred on the site of the Buffalo Thunder Resort on land owned by the Pojoaque Pueblo Indians.

The crane, built in 1988 was rented from Crane Service of Albuquerque and is the smallest crawler crane in its fleet, which includes a number of Lima and Manitowoc cranes up to 330 tons capacity.
