Demag delivers another 600 tonne CC2800-1

The heavy-duty logistics specialists Breuer & Wasel is adding a second Demag CC 2800-1 to its fleet which will immediately go to work on the construction of Germany's largest power plant.

The first 600-tonne unit was handed over at Zweibrücken at the end of June and the second will be delivered soon. The machine is equipped with a 138 metre main boom, an 84 metre main boom extension and Sideways Superlift.

Managing director Matthias Wasel said: "What swayed the decision for us was in particular its great flexibility - there is currently no other 600 tonne crawler crane available that offers so many effective configurations for very varied applications.“ Moreover, it features as an optional extra the hydraulic quick-connect system that enables the superstructure and carriage to be connected and disconnected in record time - the process takes only a few minutes. Other notable features are a lightweight 24 metre fixed fly jib and wide track shoes, each two metres across.

The first crane at work at Germany's largest power plant



Based at Bergheim in Germany, Breuer & Wasel has a workforce of 280 across six locations. The fleet includes 100 mobile, lattice boom and crawler cranes with lifting capacities of up to 1,000 tonnes.

In addition, the company's tower crane division has 340 units up to 630 metre tonnes.
