News from Batimat
This weeks Batimat yielded no major new lifting products but there were several smaller innovations. Here are a few photos from the show which continues through Saturday.
First of was what looked like a modified Genie AWP on the Novon stand. Novon has been a dealer for Genie aluminium products in France for many years but has recently began producing some of its own products.

The Novon rough terrain lift
Novon said that the machine was in fact completely of its own manufacture, it uses a mast and platform strikingly similar to those used by the Genie AWP series but with large pneumatic tyres with drive assist. The operator can drive and steer the unit into position using a steering handle from a pallet truck.
Novon also had a range of material lifts with a wide spaced mast on display which it says dovetails nicely into the bottom end of Genie’s Superlift range.

Another new access product that looked familiar was a drive at full height mobile step unit. The smaller units are made from plated steel, while the largest unit with a seven metre working height is made of anodised aluminium.

This mobile stair can be moved from the platform and offers 7.1 metres working height
By pressing down on an over-centre foot pedal and then turning the handle bars from side to side, the unit will move along to the next working are without the need to return to the ground.
A product similar to this, made in the USA popular for a while around 10 to 12 years ago? We could not remember its name though was it Escamobile?? If you know please let us know.
The producer of this product, RPS of Roulans, says that it holds the patents for this product and that it is looking to extend its market coverage through dealers.
We tried this machine out and it was both rigid and moved along very easily and with a good solid feel. It would only be practical though on industrial type floors or stages where weight is critical.
