The crane slipped off the side
The incident happened on Northendon Road as it joins Old Hall road in the centre of Sale Moor village, at around 14:00. The truck made an emergency stop near a zebra crossing after a child ran out into the road. The dynamic forces caused the Kobelco CKE800 crane to slip sideways off the trailer after its tie-down chains slipped or broke.

Pulling up at the crossing caused the slip
Q Plant has its own transport, but in this case the crane was being transported by PP O’Connor a plant hire company based in Irlam Manchester, which also offers heavy transport.
