A few more glimpses of SED
The SED show in the UK is now over, after a busy middle day on Wedensday, Thursday was naturally quieter. Rain later in the day helped slow the final hour or two. Here are just a few points from the show.
Niftylift is claiming to be launching the first Bi-Energy boom lift with built in hydraulic generator. It has fitted its HR12 with a UK Generators 3.5 KVa generator.

The generator is driven off of the diesel power supply allowing it to quickly recharge the belectrica battery pack through the machines battery charger. Alternatively the lift can be used to run items such as lighting units or tools on site, or even to charge up pure battery powered lifts.

One of the larger truck-mounted lifts on display this week was the 61 metre Wumag WT610 telescopic with jib, featured on distributor Skyking's stand and as sold to Orion Access. We also learned that the first Wumag WT1000 sold in the UK/Ireland has been ordered by McNallys Crane Hire Ireland for wind turbine work.

Dutch crane company – Crane Business, has reached an exclusive sales agreement with NRC, the Hitachi Sumitomo/Link Belt distributor in the UK, giving NRC the sole distribution rights for the 25 tonne Fushun telescopic crawler crane in the UK and Ireland.
NRC has purchased six units of the 25 tonne compact crawler crane. which it says fills a gap in the Hitachi telescopic crane product range.

Also attending the show was David Baillie, who served as senior vice president of Grove during many of its ‘glory years’ in the 1970’s and first half of the 1980’s. Baillie, who is still well known in mobile crane circles, has a son Christian, the UK/Ireland sales manager for the CAT/JLG Alliance telehandler range.
