Kobelco appoints Continental

Kobelco Cranes has appointed Los Angeles, based Continental Crane as its exclusive distributor in the states of California, Oregon and Washington for both its crawler and wheeled cranes.

Continental will take delivery of its first cranes, the 85 ton CK850-III and 100 ton CK1000-III later this month. Additional units, including the 160 ton CK1600-II and the 250 ton CK2500-II, will be delivered in the first half of 2009.

Mike Rice, manager of Continental Crane said: “No manufacturer in the world produces more
crawler cranes than Kobelco and we are delighted to be working with them. Any Kobelco crane owner will tell you that there is no more reliable machine.”

Continental has a major rental fleet of Rough Terrain, tower cranes and crawler cranes up to 500 tons. It sells both new and used cranes throughout the west coast.

Certain Kobelco crawler crane models are also sold under the Manitowoc brand through its North American distributor network.
