First 1,200 Tonner in Ireland
The first 1,200 tonne Liebherr LTM11200-9.1, the world's largest telescopic crane, to arrive in the British Isles is due to enter service in November with McNally/Windhoist of Ireland.
McNally is has purchased the new crane to help with its increasingly international wind power work which it carries out on an international basis. The company has ordered the new crane with the 100 metre main and the 126 metre luffing jib.
The crane is designed to be capable of moving on site with boom and counterwieght installed – a Gross Vehicle Weight of up to 280 tonnes.

The Liebherr LTM11200-9.1 on the test bed
Cathal McNally of Windhoist/McNally said: “The Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1 is in a class of its own with superb duties ideally suited to wind farm work. We confidently expect this crane to increase our productivity and enable us to work with the turbine manufacturers to erect larger, more efficient wind turbines.”
McNally also has a 103 metre Wumag WT1000 truck mounted aerial work platform on order for wind farm work.
