MEC up 5% on 2007
MEC the Selma California based aerial lift and telehandler manufacturer has said that its revenues for the nine months to the end of September are five percent up on the same period in 2007. The company is private and does not make its accounts public.
The company also says its order intake and ‘dare to compare’ marketing campaign are helping it maintain production of its traditional products at reasonable levels though to the Christmas holiday shutdown period.
David White, president of MEC also said: “we are investing heavily in developing new products, reaching out to new customers and making some significant strategic changes for 2009.
“One of those changes includes concentrating our engineering resources on developing and manufacturing unique specialised lift equipment that we believe will help our customers be more competitive in the equipment rental market. Products that we believe customers will feel they ‘must have’.
Jim Tolle, president of the sales division of MEC added “Our Engineering and R&D team is working on five new products, some of which are unique new concepts.”
MEC plans to unveil several of these new and ‘unusual’ products at The ARA -Rental Show in Atlanta, Georgia in early March.
