Fatal crane accident at refinery
A man died on Thursday after a crane dropped its load at the Essar Oil Refinery in Vadinar in the Jamnagar region of Gujarat, India.
Rajendra Singh Rajvir, 25, was working in the expansion area of Essar Oil Refinery, when “a heavy substance” being lifted by a crane reportedly dropped and landed on him. Rajir was seriously injured and later died from his injuries.
Some reports claim that following his death other labourers became angry and even resulted in the throwing of stones at the ambulance that collected the body. The refinery management deny any such trouble.
