New GM for Sims Crane
Florida based Sims Crane & Equipment has promoted Kurt Kufferman to vice president and general manager of operations.
Kufferman, who has worked for Sims for around 27 years, will oversee the day-to-day operations of all departments at the company’s Tampa headquarters including dispatch, workshop, parts and service. He will also be responsible for coordinating operations across the company’s 10 branches.
Kufferman joined Sims Crane as a salesman in Bradenton in 1983 and was promoted to manager of the Orlando depot in 1986. His previous role was manager of the Miami branch, where he will be replaced by Keith Lester.
Sims was established in 1959 and specialises in crane, aerial lift and telehandler sales and rental. Its lift fleet is largely JLG while it offers All Terrain cranes to 550 tons and crawler cranes to 300 tons. It also offers Rough Terrains, Pick & Carry, truck cranes – both telescopic and lattice boomed. Brands include Tadano, Grove, Manitowoc and Kobelco.
