GGR to distribute Cormidi in UK

GGR – the European master distributor for Unic spider cranes – has been appointed as the Cormidi distributor for its multipurpose spider cranes/lifts in the UK.

The Cormidi lift can be used as a spider crane, spider lift or underbridge unit through a number of attachments. GGR says that the new products will allow it to branch out into the powered access market. The company has already added a couple of the multipurpose spiders to its rental fleet - the Cormidi KB19-4 and KB22-4.

The Cormidi KB19-4 underbridge unit

GGR chief executive Graeme Riley said: “We are excited to bring these innovative machines to the UK and break new ground for GGR by offering powered access equipment to our customers. I’m confident that the Cormidi KB19-4 and KB22-4 spider lifts will be popular additions to our range as they are flexible machines that will appeal to a number of niche markets.”

The Cormidi KB19-4 crane

"The cranes have three stage telescopic booms with innovative knuckle sections and hydraulic jibs for accurate positioning. As a work platform and underbridge unit, the KB series flexible boom system can easily lift an operator up, over, then underneath a bridge for repairs and maintenance. These access platforms can reach a 19.5 or 22 metre working heights with 11.3 metres of horizontal outreach and four metres down reach for underbridge work."

Weighing 2,900kg, GGR says the KB19-4 is more suitable for low point loading areas as an underbridge unit. As a spider crane with a maximum capacity of 995kg, the KB19-4 offers more lifting power, control and reach than standard spider cranes. It has a maximum tip height of 14.6 metres (16 metres with searcher hook), 365 slew and fast winch speeds. The KB22-4 has a 17 metre maximum working height (18.5 metres with searcher hook).

Both models feature stabilisation sensors, an over-lowering alarm, auto-levelling outriggers, diagnostic function and a radio remote for controls.
