Standing on the bucket

Spotted by a reader in North Carolina, a man working on a new transmission line from a work platform that was just not quite high enough.

So our intrepid man climbs out on to the rim of the bucket in order to gain an extra metre of reach, despite already being around 18 to 20 metre high.

Standing on the bucket some 20 metres up

The chances of slipping and falling are exceptionally high, and surely this was a planned job and therefore the heights all known in advance?
One has to assume therefore that this utility truck was already owned and was used in this manner simply to avoid renting in a higher lift? Could have been an expensive if the man had fallen or even if the dangerous work practice had been spotted and the employer cited. Definitely one for our Death Wish series
