Challenger for ABA

UK based crane rental company ABA Crane Hire has taken delivery of its first Terex crane – a 60 tonne Challenger 3180.

The three axle 3180 features a 50 metre main boom as well as a 16 metre swingaway extension and can lift 37.9 tonne at a radius of four metres.

ABA managing director Arnold Baggott said: “To meet the growing and diverse needs of our customers it was clear from the outset that we needed an all terrain crane with a 50 metre boom system. The Challenger 3180 was our preferred choice for a number of reasons, but particularly for its compactness on three axles and for having the longest boom length in its class. With a strong load chart and superb driver environment, this latest addition to the fleet promises to deliver everything our customers want and expect.”

ABA's new 60 tonne Challenger 3180

Based just outside of Birmingham the Challenger 3180 joins ABA’s fleet of 18 All Terrain cranes which is topped by a 220 tonne GMK5220.
