1,000th Z-33/18 boom

Genie has produced its 1,000th 33ft Z-33/18 battery powered articulated boom lift, just two years after its launch. It has also promoted Francesco Aiello to senior director for Genie production at the Umbertide plant in Perugia, Italy where it is built.

The Genie production team in Umbertide celebrate the 1,000th Z-33/18

Regional managing director Joe George said: “This 1,000th unit of the Genie Z-33/18 boom lift notably marks a milestone in terms of serving our customers in Europe, as we continue to invest in developing Umbertide as a world-class design, engineering and manufacturing centre.”

Aiello joined the company in 2000 after having worked as quality manager and auditor for ISO 9001 implementation. Since then he has held positions of increasing responsibility, from service manager, to director of operations in Umbertide and then director of supply chain management for Genie products.

“Francesco has an extensive manufacturing background which he has already demonstrated with the successful integration of our S-65 boom and Z-62 boom production lines, which are the most recent Genie boom lift models to be manufactured in Umbertide,” said George. ”We have every confidence in his ability to lead our team as he continues to directly oversee the next phase of the improvement and expansion of our Umbertide factory.”
