ARA announces new CEO
The American Rental Association (ARA) has appointed Tony Conant as chief executive to succeed Christine Wehrman, in mide November when she retires after 16 years with the association.
Conant will become the fourth chief executive since its founding in 1955. He joins the ARA after two and a half years as chief operating officer at the Institute for Supply Management in Phoenix. Prior to that he spent five years with telecom company One Touch as vice president of operations and share services. Before that he was part of the HR team at Bank of America.
He started out in 1997 with Intel as supplier development manage, moving on to operations manager and strategic technology transfer manager before leaving in 2004 to join Whirlpool as strategic outsourcing manager before moving to merchandising. He left to join Bank of America in 2007.

ARA president Roger Vajgrt, owner of Home Rental Center & Sales said: “The board of directors is pleased to have Tony join the ARA.
