Gunco expands Special Equipment

Dutch international rental company Gunco, part of the TVH group, is expanding its Specialist Equipment re-rental division.

It includes 120 heavy duty telehandlers, mini crawler and spider cranes and larger or niche type aerial work platforms. The equipment is aimed at both the European and Middle Eastern Markets, for group and third party rental companies that do not currently offer such equipment. Among the latest deliveries to arrive are some 185ft JLG 1850SJ telescopic booms lifts.

Global rental manager Guillaume Getas said: “The goal of Special Equipment was initially to meet the demand from our own branches in Europe and boost our equipment utilisation to internal customers. As we have reached the critical mass both in terms of capabilities and fleet size, we are launching the second stage of the rocket, which consists of promoting the range in countries where our group has no rental operations itself. Thus, we offering to provide machines, spare parts and services to selected external rental companies who do not currently run such specialised equipment“.

Head of Special Equipment operations Erwin Geurts added: "We are always on the look out for new concepts , which will strengthen safety and productivity at height. High value equipment versus low market demand is the perfect targeted ratio when we budget our investment. Through our global network and ability to plan requirements and transport machines. We expect to double the current fleet again within two to three years”.
