Gruppo Effe liquidation
The crane fleet of Italian company Gruppo Effe is being auctioned following the earlier failure and bankruptcy of the company.
Gruppo Effe was at its peak in 2007 when it had revenues in the region of €100 million, 200 employees and 20 locations, selling and renting construction equipment. The company ran into difficulties during the recession but was initially propped up, but revenues continued to sink reaching €12 million by 2012. As a result the business was declared insolvent and parts of the group were rented to former managers which formed two new companies.

The Effe yard in Mortegliano
The business in Lombardy went to new company Techind Srl, while the main equipment business in Mortegliano - to the North of Venice became Sertech srl, with the agreement of both parties to purchase those parts of the business following a period of rental, as is the case under Italian bankruptcy proceedings.
The rump of the business is now being liquidated and in particular the fleet of Potain tower cranes – both regular models and self-erectors, with ancillary equipment. They will all be auctioned by Mercury Auctions on the 26th of this month.
