German crane production resumes
Germany’s crane manufacturers are resuming production as the country starts its return to normal life and supply chains begin get back on track.
Last week saw the Grove/Manitowoc plant in Wilhelmshaven and the Liebherr factory in Ehingen, start ramping up their production lines again. Andreas Cremer product director for Grove All Terrain cranes said: “Attention has been paid to health protection and processes adapted to the maintain the highest conditions. Not only has the plant been put back into operation - the second piece of good news is that the orders can now be processed. The plant is not yet running at full capacity, not only because of the safety measures. Those responsible for the supply chains are also working on getting them back into a steady flow. The employees in the offices continue to work from home as far as possible.”

The same type of safety measures has been implemented at Liebherr in Ehingen. Tadano Demag is also carrying out the same modifications and will open its plants in Zweibrücken - for Demag cranes and Lauf for Tadano - at the beginning of May. In the meantime it has a team working on any emergencies and making sure that customers receive support.
