First Hup M 28-22 in US

US contractor Davis Company has ordered the first Potain Hup M 28-22 self-erecting tower crane in North America from distributor Compass Equipment.

The M 28-22 has a maximum capacity of two tonnes and can handle 850kg at its 28 metre jib tip. Maximum hook height is 31 metres while an integrated transport axle, which is compliant throughout North America, allows ‘transportation by fifth wheel or two bar over the road’. Once onsite the axle is then able to position the crane into position with the use of a wireless remote control.

Scheduled for delivered this month, the crane will go straight to work on the first of several building projects, including an apartment building and retirement housing.

Company owner Dennis Davis, said: “These Potain cranes are just amazing. We are excited about the new Hup M 28-22 and its features. Its small footprint and easy operation make it perfect for the projects we undertake.”

Based in Reno, Davis Company operates as a general contractor throughout Nevada and California. It was also the first company in the US to take delivery of a 1.8 tonne Potain Igo MA21 self-erecting tower crane to back in 2005.
