2,200t/m Huisman for US
US based Keppel AmFELS has ordered a 2,200 tonne/metre Huisman leg encircling crane for energy provider Dominion Energy.
The new crane has been ordered for installation on Dominion Energy’s wind turbine installation vessel, Charybdis, the crane will be used on large scale offshore wind developments along the east coast of the US over the next 10 years. Scheduled for delivery in 2023, Huisman North America will commission and test the crane at Keppel’s facility in Brownsville, Texas.
Once commissioned the company claims it will become the country’s first Jones Act compliant offshore wind installation vessel, which requires all goods travelling between US ports to be on ships built, owned, and operated by US citizens or permanent residents.
