Sarens forms JV with Omega Morgan

Belgian international crane and heavy moving company Sarens has signed a Joint Venture agreement with Portland, Oregon based heavy lift and rigging specialist
Omega Morgan to provide crane services in the Pacific Northwest.

The joint venture will be based in Portland and will operate as Omega Morgan Crane Services with a base fleet of cranes based there and at Omega’s location in Seattle, Washington. It will also have the opportunity to call on cranes and equipment from the Sarens global fleet which now totals around 1,500 units.

Omega Morgan chief executive Greg Tansey said: “For over two decades, we have provided superior heavy lift and rigging services within the Pacific Northwest.
Adding cranes allows us to better meet our local customer’s needs by delivering full-spectrum, turnkey services. Partnering with Sarens was a no-brainer. They are a recognised leader in the industry, particularly in nuclear and other energy markets, which means their level of professionalism, safety and engineering are unmatched.”

Speaking of the initial fleet he added: “These assets are standing by and ready to deploy at a moment’s notice, from smaller 60 ton cranes to Sarens’ SGC‑120, which features a 3,473-ton lifting capacity.”

Omega Morgan began as Morgan Industrial in 1991. The original founders had a vision of bringing higher levels of service to rigging and machinery moving in the Pacific Northwest. In 2003, Morgan acquired Omega Riggers to become Omega Morgan. Since then the company has focused on customers in the energy, technology, and aerospace markets. It employs around 300 at locations in Portland, two in Seattle, Calgary in Canada, Houston Texas and Boise Idaho. Its services include Heavy Rigging, Machinery Moving, and Millwrighting.
