United acquires Able Equipment Rental

US based United Rentals has acquired Able Equipment Rentals of New York, no announcement has been made by United, but the Able website is clear on the subject, while a linked landing page on the United Rentals site also appears confirms it.

Privately owned Able was established by Steve Laganas in 1996, and is based in Deer Park, New York, it added a second location in Edison, New Jersey and a third - Pennsauken, New Jersey - in 2014. It currently operates from six branch locations in addition to its headquarters: - three in New Jersey, two in Pennsylvania and one in Connecticut.
The growth has come from the fact that it has been on the acquisition trail itself over the past year or so, acquiring Extreme Rentals of Manassas, Virginia in July last year, just a week or two after it purchased the rental fleet, and associated assets of Elite Construction Rentals of Wallingford, Connecticut.
